Used in the prescribed way and with appropriate dosage, ORTEC will excite cell metabolism to a maximum activity level. The dosage effectiveness curve of ORTEC can be compared with that of hormones. Reduction of COD & BOD Levels - ORTEC is uniquely designed to lower the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels under the consent limits (provided sufficient retention time, or aeration, is allowed).
Reduction of TS & TSS Levels - ORTEC promotes the digestion of Total Solids (TS) by microorganisms present in the wastewater. In the case of Total Suspended Solids (TSS), ORTEC treatment reduces the existing levels under the consent limits (providing sufficient retention time, or aeration)
Removal of Fat, Oil & Greases - Use of ORTEC promotes the conversion of Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG) to short chain molecules, which facilitate removal and digestion of FOG by the microorganisms present in the different media.
Increase in Dissolved Oxygen Content - The introduction of ORTEC in bodies of water increases the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) content and reduces the superficial tension of the water.
Cleaning - Perfect cleaning of dirty surfaces, liquids and air emissions without the negative consequences of hazardous chemical substances.
Odor Elimination - Waste odors are attributable to ammonia, sulfides, mercaptans, skatoles, and other compounds. Through continuous dosage ORTEC will eliminate these as well as other odors. This property will greatly reduce the population of insects attracted by odors like flies, beetles, spiders, etc.
pH adjustment and stabilization - The continuous dosage of ORTEC can substitute pH adjusters maintaining the pH stable.
Corrosion Control - Corrosion is the result of sulfur, ammonia and other substances attacking the constituents of different materials. The addition of ORTEC stops the formation of most of these substances and prevents corrosion from occurring.
Methane Generation from Digestors - The use of ORTEC in landfills and wastewater treatment plants increases methane generation and at the same time upgrades the quality of the gas produced by inhibiting the growth of hydrogen sulfide. As a result, the corrosive nature of hydrogen sulfide when burned through the Combined Heat & Power units used for power generation is restricted.
