PRESSING
Pressing may be the most difficult of the rendering processes and the most important. Separation of fat from the meal is the very reason we render.
Fat is usually worth a multiple of meal values, ranging from one and one-half times to two and one-half times meal values. We have cooked the product to remove its moisture and now we need to separate the fat to produce a shelf-stable meal and the fat that can be refined and sold for a wide range of uses in multiple markets.
Each of the steps preceding pressing impact the result of this step, if raw material grinding is done poorly, if the product is improperly cooked, if the cooked product is allowed to cool or if feed to the press is not consistent the results will suffer leaving fat in the meal or worse yet coloring the fat, reducing its quality.
Alloy has been involved in pressing since our inception, we know pressing of both rendering and vegetable oil processes. For decades, we sold and serviced Screw Presses (Expellers) from Anderson, Dupps, Keith and others. Similar to our cookers this history shaped Alloy and when Alloy decided to offer a press we worked in collaboration with another screw press service company and the result is newest press in the market, born with more flexibility, greater throughput per horsepower, easier service and overall lower cost per ton.
Our press does not use proprietary motors, gearboxes and bearings, resulting in shelf available parts for local suppliers and without the expense of added mark-ups on these components.
Let's talk pressing we think you will be IM-Pressed.
